Key Features of the F.P.Journe Centigraphe

The F.P.Journe Centigraphe features a 100th of a second hand that completes a full revolution in one second, marked in hundredths. At 2 o’clock, a hand revolves every 20 seconds, and at 6 o’clock, a dial is graduated for 10 minutes. The model is named “Centigraphe” due to its ability to measure and display elapsed times with a precision of up to one hundredth of a second. This mechanical chronograph indicates times from one hundredth of a second to 10 minutes, visible on three different dials. The patented ergonomic chronograph is operated by a rocker at 2 o’clock, instead of traditional buttons. Another patent covers the mechanism’s configuration, isolating the chronograph from the timekeeping function, ensuring the balance amplitude remains unaffected. The 100th of a second and 20-second counters are driven by separate wheel trains from the mainspring center, while the 10-minute hand is driven by another train from the barrel arbor. The 100th of a second hand can be stopped anywhere along its path for precise readings. The chronograph’s hands are zeroed by hammer levers on snail cams, and the barrel features a maintaining power system, providing 80 hours of power reserve without the chronograph and 24 hours with it running.
