Based in the Swiss town of Saint-Imier, the watch company Longines is founded by Auguste Agassiz in 1832.
Thoughtout its history, Longines gained a solid reputation because of its continuous contribution to technical development and innovations of the watch industry. The brand was recognized for winning 10 Grand Prix up until the 1929 exhibition in Barcelona.
In addition, Longines was involved for the first time in the Concours Hippique International Officiel de Genève as timekeeper in 1926. Currently it keeps surpporting numerous equestrian events in the world.
